Finally went on my first big trip in the new Bronco and was very pleased with it's overall performance. I love this machine! Definitely a keeper....can I get 24 years out of it like my Oldsmobile? Will sure try.

So nice not to have to worry about destroying my ride when driving to hiking trailheads on potholed dirt roads. Parking area for day hike of Mt. Passaconaway.

Happy with my gas mileage. This is two weeks of driving around northern NH and Maine running 93 octane and mostly in Eco mode

Beautiful shots of New Hampshire! Loved backpacking the Presidentials with my buddies and staying up in the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) huts as a teen. Was this trip earlier in the Spring? Don't remember encountering snow atop Mt. Washington in June.

I drove up in that big storm May 23rd. Mt Washington was in the clouds for 2 days afterwards. Then got to see all the snow. That is the most snow that I have ever seen up there in my 30+ years of Spring - Fall camping. Love NH! No mountains like that in NJ 😄

How the heck did you get that gas mileage? Did you hand calculate to confirm? My 4 door manual claims I get 17.5mpg but the real mpg is 16.5.

I just found in another thread how to adjust how the trip computer calculates MPG and plan to update my Bronco this weekend.

I saw that same thread and am going to calculate my own average when I head up to NH again in the fall.

I was floating around 21 mpg but it was slowly creeping up before the trip. Then when I put all the miles on during the trip, I was suddenly holding 24 mpg. I did drive like a granny and mostly in cruise control when I was out there and love to do long coasts to a stop so maybe that had something to do with it. And then again, it is a 2 door, 2.3L non-sasquatch with stock tires so it is pretty light compared to most Broncos.

I should also add that when driving around NH and Maine I rarely got over 55 MPH

You'll love it! The guides are lots of fun. It was pouring rain when I went and they soldered thorough. The mud made it more challenging ☺

OK, that explains it :) I have driven like a granny going to church on Sundays in my 4 door badlands and have gotten 23-24mpg on a flat highway using cruise control.

But my normal (but non-Ricky Racer) driving style nets me mid-to-high teens mpg. Never over 20 and rarely 19 (hand calculated).
