Looks like my Bronco will be seeing the New Year in easier than expected with the addition of 4 x LP6's from @Baja Designs and an AceCraft Bolt on Mount bar. I am still working out the exact final setup for the relays but I couldn't wait to at least power them up. I was initial concerned they would look like an afterthought and hang out to far but the mount bar keeps them in as close as possible which I was happy about.
I put up a post about the Factory Aux switchs but figured I would keep it all in here. The LP6 are rated at 7.5AMPS on High and Low beam. They recommend 14 ga wire for a single light and 12 ga for two.
The Ford supplies AUX switches have 1.5mm2 which we will say is 16 AWG so no where near enough to handle the load.
Added to that is theneed to ensure Low and High Beam on the LP6's is not engaged at once. BD offer a Lock Out Harness as suggested by @swamp2 but it only supports 2 lights and would need to be cut to fit or I would have a heap of left over wires .
Based on that I figure its easier to just make a custom loom to suit the application.
