Of all the trail repairs, I never put much thought into belts. I lost the serp belt on my 2002 duramax and managed to limp home before the battery died and my arms fatigued from no PS. Since then, always had an extra belt in the tool box.
Given the OP's breakdown, might be wise of my ass to throw a belt in the ford cargo "cooler"
