Lift was installed at Les Schwab about a month ago. I've put maybe 100 miles on it. About 15 minutes before it happened I was driving freeway speeds on a sketchy two lane highway with 3 kids on board. I dropped off one of the kids, and as I was about to pull out of the driveway, this happened:

Looks like a uniball failure. Most time all that stuff is held in by snap rings. If I zoom in looks like snap rings still in their groove.

Glad to hear everyone is ok.

Looks like the bolt holding the uniball to uca has come loose and exited the building.

I hate to say this, but most people that pay to have a lift installed aren't actually going read the instructions that came with it.

I understand that I am trying to help the OP not bash him. Maybe the installer should have said something to someone. Maybe drive the truck for 50 miles before giving it back. Just trying to point out things I see.

I work in a shop and when we do lifts and ALWAYS go for a drive (maybe not 50 miles but if the instructions say that). Then re-check and re-torque everything we touched. Then after releasing to the cust we also recommend a 500 mile re-tourque and re-check.

Sometimes stuff works loose and settles in position from the weight being on it and being cycled through its travel numerus times.

:cautious: Maybe I should keep my thoughts to myself. 😁
