Yes, 3 coats.Did you apply a clear coat? That’s going to brighten it up.
Everyones first comment when they see the toy Bronco is, why would you buy a baby blue Bronco. I won't lol. The color does not photograph well.To me this looks nothing like baby blue....
This looks exactly like the pics we have seen and you ordered this paint same as the poster did? It’s baby blue. I ordered paint for the yellow RC.
I ordered a rattle can of A51 and clear coat from https://www.automotivetouchup.comThis looks exactly like the pics we have seen and you ordered this paint same as the poster did?
Strange your looks so close to the pics we've seen and his looks WAY off. Maybe they changed the formula and his is the old one?I ordered a rattle can of A51 and clear coat from https://www.automotivetouchup.com
https://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/ford/2021/bronco/Long story, bear with me. I’m rebuilding my 72 bronco. I’ve decided to paint it Area 51 based on all of the amazing photos floating around here. I call a Ford dealer and they give me the code “ku”. I call my local paint supply store and they say they have ku and it says it’s Area 51 by Ford 2021. Things are going well. I go pick up a sample (thank god) and the sample is super dark. Weird. It matches the color on her screen. So I head to the Ford dealer and ask for a pamphlet for the paint colors. He hands me a pamphlet that shows Area 51. Problem is, it’s dark. Like charcoal gray dark. He then pulls out a book that has 8x11 sheets of the color. Again it’s charcoal gray. He shows me the online selection and again it’s very dark.
I’m not saying it’s slightly darker I’m saying the colors don’t look like they are related. Anyone know what’s up?
I like to look at the sky in photos to see how much saturation the camera added. Looks like it added quite a bit. I took the saturation down to what I’d say is a somewhat reasonable sky color..This is a new pic from my dealer. This looks baby blue. Nothing like the roadeo pictures. So damn frustrating. I don’t want a baby blue. I was hoping it was closer to a steel grey/blue
So I just called automotive touch up and they are saying their formula has yellow and violet whereas the place I had mine mixed had just two blues. Sounds like a different formula. But keep in mind, my paint looks exactly like the dealers which is this color:
I like what you did there. I think I’m gonna have to drive down to see it in person.I like to look at the sky in photos to see how much saturation the camera added. Looks like it added quite a bit. I took the saturation down to what I’d say is a somewhat reasonable sky color..
I’m not sure the differences, but I do know my toy bronco painted with the automotive touch up rattle can looks exactly like the Bronco sport A51 at the dealer down the street. So I just called automotive touch up and they are saying their formula has yellow and violet whereas the place I had mine mixed had just two blues.
