Big Bend, Badlands, Bennett Pass

Went out with @WillRCTID on Saturday to check out Bennett Pass Road in Mt. Hood National Forest. It's a 'curated trail' in the Bronco Trail App, FWIW, and a featured trail in OnX. We'd been eyeing it for a while, since the views we've seen online from various spots looked spectacular. The weather and wildfire smoke didn't do us any favors, but we still managed to get some nice shots of Mt. Hood anyway.

The trail itself isn't very challenging in terms of obstacles, just a lot of sustained rocky driving, and a handful of shelf-road sections crossing scree fields, some narrower than others. We did find one section that had a fairly deep washed-out rut but it was easily avoidable.

Beautiful drive, just be prepared for a couple spots like this, and narrower:

I'd like to go back out here again soon and check out some of the other trails and campgrounds. There's a lot of forest roads and such out there.
