Morning!

I am scheduled to take my rig to the dealership for the rear cam recall and whatever else they can take care of. For those that have already done the camera recall, I understand that they have to remove the spare tire carrier to remove the camera. I do have a Wolfbox rear mirror cam bolted to the carrier (easy remove of 2 bolts). My concern is the wiring to the OEM camera. I have a soft top and have the Ford Molle rear enclosure and a DIY sliding tray bolted to the floor. Will they have to remove all that to change the camera or is it a plug and play connector?

If that is the case I will wait for that repair and remove that stuff myself. Also, I ask the rep if they have the camera available (so I don't have to wait for the parts) and have the rig sitting there collecting dust, and he couldn't tell me.

Final question, can the reprogram of the camera (5-8 hrs) be done regardless of the new or old camera? or the new cam requires it.

Thank you for any help and recommendations.

i wasn’t aware there was a recall until a local dealership (one that i’ve never been to) contacted me by phone To arrange time for a dealer licensed mobile mechanic to come to my home and perform the procedure in my driveway! I also had many aftermarket parts installed including an exterior dashcam mounted on the carrier! The mechanic was cool and we discussed the best way to navigate around the aftermarket parts efficiently! He was in and out in about 1 to 1.5 hours!

My dealer took care of 3 recalls on a day. In my area that is good. Still pending the fix for the passenger seat bolt/rail solution from Ford, but all is good. The reprograming of the system (I don't think any OTA updates have hit my rig for a while) deleted the rolling rocks at start up. I suggest you (in case you don't have it or use it) to download the Ford APP. The recalls are logged in there. Is a good app to monitor certain things in the rig. Hope you are enjoying your Bronco.

They only had to access the small compartment behind the latch area so I never had to take off my tailgate table. Just a plug to undo the camera behind that small panel.
