Unfortunately, both images are of the back of the car. That was my first guess, too, but couldn't for the life of me figure out why the front plate was so brightly lit.
Same here - I thought it was front and back because the taillights were so bright they looked like headlights, but they were also the wrong shape. I also couldn't figure out how the neighbor had two camera angles (when in fact it was the same camera for both shots), nor why the perp would have pulled forward into the driveway, and then backed in afterward.
Nope, too skinny.

Ya, it's bizarre. Not the smartest mail/package thief. He was there for 20 minutes. He took the mail into the car and stayed in the car long enough to check each envelope to see if it might have contained a check or a card, before getting out and dropping the mail. No clue why he opened the tailgate since there were no packages to be stolen.
Yes, only the mailbox. He didn't approach the front door. No clue why he opened the back. But backing in suggests he wanted to be able to leave quickly.
