I will need to see pictures of how your steps mount. There needs to be at least 1/8" of clearance between them and the pinch weld seam, and 3/4" of clearance past the face for where they wrap underneath.

I'll crawl under there tonight and take a bunch of pics. Stock Ford side steps.

Looking at the website for the 2-door ones, I see what you mean as far as clearance based on how they wrap back under. Probably won't work, sadly.
