I know there have been some other posts regarding coolant hose issues. This is different than the pulley against hose issue. I think someone else had this issue too.
Driving to work notices intermittent steam coming out from under hood and front grill.......almost thought I was imagining it as it was very intermittent and would disappear when I would move. I was in traffic. Put down window and could clearly smell coolant. Watched gauges like a hawk until I got to garage. Popped hood and could see coolant and steam squirting out from hose at attachment to water pump...........the clamp was completely loose!!!!
This is the self-tensioning clamp and it had never been 'released'.
Took it to dealer and they fixed right away. I'm attaching pic of the hose/clamp. Check it. Or at least check your coolant level.......mine was low once I pulled into garage. It was cold that day so it was easy to see the steam otherwise I may not have known I had a problem until it was Defcon 1.
Notice how the hose was starting to come off the attachment. The clamp is on but is not 'released'. There is a tool that does that.
