My first car was the '93 Bronco XLT in my profile photo, so I wanted fender badges closer to the OBS badges. I didn't want Chrome so I couldn't just go find off-the-shelf badges from ebay, and that's when I came across Dave's "No Shame Garage" etsy shop. I reached out and he was able to make the custom badges you see below. Here is the link to his Etsy shop - he's just another auto enthusiast using the laser cutter he has to make custom stuff for others. Etsy - No Shame Garage Bronco Badge Listing

The badges are laser cut, paint-able gloss back acrylic and come nicely protected in bubble wrap with 3M adhesive on the back and masking paper on the front. There is a separate backer piece and a corresponding piece with all the letters cut that you can use as a stencil for final assembly. They're very precisely made, and although the badges didn't break the bank I was putting them on something that definitely did so wanted them to be nice!

I have a '22 Badlands Sasquatch in Cactus Grey, and previously swapped for the gloss black bronco on the tailgate and got the beauty rings powder coated close to the grille color. So for badge colors I left the backer black, painted 'Bronco' white (like the grille lettering), and used orange for 'Badlands' (close to the original badge color).

Steps I followed: Youtube - Here's Dave's video on how to do the badge assembly!
  1. Hold it up to the OEM badges and get hyped about how cool these will look
  2. Removed masking paper from the front of the letters I planned to paint
  3. Bought some 220 sandpaper and scuffed up the letters lightly for better paint adhesion
  4. Cleaned off the letters with mineral spirits
  5. After they dried, I found some scrap cardboard and started painting. Don't be like me - stay 8-12" away from the surface you're painting... I had to wait a while for the orange to dry.
  6. Set the painted letters back into the cutout template and remove the paper covering the 3M adhesive. I placed the letters face down / adhesive up. Then, I put the face of the backing plate face down and firmly pushed together to secure the letters to the backplate.
  7. At this point I applied some clear coat over the finished product and let everything dry and cure (I waited a week just to be safe).
  8. I measured to confirm where the OEM badges were located and then removed them with a hairdryer and carefully peeled them off. I cleaned up with goo gone and some alcohol wipes.
  9. Finally (very carefully) installed the new badges in the same spot.
It's not perfect (b/c I'm a CPA, not a painter ok?) but it is giving me some great nostalgia for the 90s bronco I never should have sold! Pictures below.

Looks great! This would be a great option if i didn’t already have the script. The refrigerator magnets definitely need to go!

I have done a bit of chrome but it cost a lot more and it's not always easy to get. I have never offered or sold any chrome for those reason. I have made myself a set of custom badges for 1997 F250HD short bed 4x4 crew cab and they do look amazing.

Looks good, I myself would prefer to put it on the tailgate and leave the stock sticker but it turned out well for you!
This looks so good. Wish they came prepainted. Envisioning that on velocity blue with underground garage's orange braptor graphic

I'm not a "crafty" guy by any means, but it was a cool little project to work on. I probably spent the same amount on the paint as the badge itself costs haha, really not too bad and I enjoyed doing it!

Ordered 3 with Sasquatch. My eruption green paint order arrived today so I may do some painting this weekend, but looking for feedback first. EG painted letters on a black background, or reversed?

I like the Sasquatch lettering!

I think the black background and green letters will look better, but painting the letters is definitely more work than painting the background. A good comparison is the keyless entry pad for 2022 (body color plastic + black buttons).

I actually went to Dave with the idea of doing the original badges in this post with the current Bronco font. Did some mock placement on my Bronco to adjust the size and this is what it ended up as.

I got the side emblems mounted today. The light wasn’t great for pics. If they were a tad bigger they’d be perfect, but as is I’m very happy with them. This was a fun little project, and I’m impressed with the work by No Shame.

Looks great. Sorry if you think they are a bit small. That's The size we came up with that we agreed looked good.

I don’t think they’re too small, they look awesome. A tad bigger would be great, but I wouldn’t swap them out now if there was a bigger option. I’m very happy with them.
