Does anyone know what the range of this sensor is. For some reason mine isn't going below 149F when cold.

Does anyone know what the range of this sensor is. For some reason mine isn't going below 149F when cold.

There is no minimum range. As long as the CHT, ECT and IAT are within ~30 degrees, the vehicle won’t flag any DTC. So if you don’t have any DTCs, then there is no issue, or multiple sensors are reporting inaccurate readings (which is unlikely)
As far as upper range, anything over 225 will flag a DTC.

How long did you let it sit before seeing 149?

Probably about 4 hours now. Coolant temp is 100 and head temp is saying 149. But no check engine lights. I guess I’ll let it sit overnight and see what it says. But like you said, if there’s not cel there’s most likely no issue

CHT is normally higher than ECT. So even though those readings are more than 30 apart, it doesn’t seem too abnormal. Usually to get an accurate idea it’ll need to sit 6-8 hours or overnight. Let us know what it reads tomorrow

After sitting for a few hours, the oil and trans temp dipped into the 60s. Coolant temp shows 100 and cylinder head temp shows 149. So if I had to take a guess, that’s the bottom value that the dash shows. Ambient temp outside is 40
