A couple months ago my battery voltage dropped really low and when I went to start it the brake went pedal did not work and the I noticed a warning on the dash that the braking system malfunctioned. I charged the battery for a couple of hours, but it did not hold the charge as when I returned home from work the following day the battery was completely dead. I reached out to the dealer, and they suggested replacing the battery. After replacing the battery everything was working fine except now i have a parking system malfunction code - the vehicle parking aid will not beep and you have to turn the feature off to keep the warning from flashing on the dash.
I brought it to the dealer for service and to check on the vehicles systems. I have added lights, auto start stop delete, upgraded the stereo system with a plugNplay kit, replaced both front and rear bumper so I wanted them to check everything I did to make sure everything was ok with the installs I did. Now I should have known I was in for a long ride when I suggested that they do a parasite test on the battery and the response was that it will take time" DUH". The parasite test came back negative but when I pick up the vehicle it still had the parking system warning which the forgot to check so i took it back and I've made two payments since they've had it.
First, they said that they sensor was bad and the had one in stock, but it needed to be painted to match the body color. Then they said a wire going to the sensor in my rear bumper was too short, so they had to extend it. They said that it was because I used an aftermarket harness which I told them I did not, but he said I had to because the harness doesn't say ford and the harness, he had in his Mustang said ford and they tag their parts. Now they think is the parking sensor module but the need to order an original speaker because the ford engineers think that the aftermarket speakers may not emit the beeping sound. I reminded the service advisor that everything worked up to the point where the battery died, he said, "that's good information ill pass it on to the tech". They have had it so long they forgot why it was there in the first place.
