Driver side outer CV joint loose

In middle of lifting the bronco and I over extended the axle and the outer CV joint is loose.

How do I get it back on? I struggled with it for a while and gave up

Had the same problem. Tried to get it covered by ford but they said no. I had to buy a new one... I am sure there might be repair shops that might be willing to fix it.

It’s really easy.. just have to pop the boot off and fish all the balls back into their slots and feed it back together and snap the O Ring back in place. Make sure you tighten the boot back.. also it’s gonna be a greasy mess so be prepared

I finally put it back together(did not take the CV joint apart) and seemed like its working fine... (drove as well)

If you didn’t take the boot off and reinsert the snap ring that holds the thing together then the first time you go full droop (or close) it’ll likely separate again. Wouldn’t want that to happen in 4wd
