Don't waste your money on a snorklel unless you have a 2.3. The 2.7's alternator is too low to make the snorkel practical for it, unless you're after the look or are in dusty conditions...

There could be an entire thread on ”what bad things happen when you submerge your engine compartment” - but damaging the alternator would not be high on the list. Not even sure it would be on the list.

Unless you know of something different about Ford alternators specifically, I’ve submerged many a GM and Suzuki alternator with no problems to the alternator.

I would expect the Bronco alternator to be similar.
