I posted some videos and got a lot of questions about how I got my JBL speaker tucked up under my hardtop to get my rear view vision back. Below is the simple fix with pictures:

1. 1.5 x 1.5” square aluminum bar
2. A-bracket aluminum x 2

I cut 2 pieces from the aluminum square bar just under 6”s (15cm’s) each. I bought the A-brackets off Amazon (see pic) and drilled a hole Through the center middle of the A bracket and through the aluminum square bar connecting them with a bolt and nut (could just weld too I’m sure). I marked this with the top of the A bracket at Just under 5” (12.5cm’s). I adjusted the holes on the A bracket to fit the distance between the holes on the JBL speaker bar that holds the speaker. I drilled 2 corresponding holes at the bottom of the aluminum square bars to match the JBL “u-holder” bracket that is attached to the bronco. I then painted it and put a felt pad on top to avoid scratching up my hard top. Works great. I had to use a hammer to get them to slide down in the “u-holder” brackets and even opened the U-holder brackets a little with a crowbar as needed (I was gentle, I promise). Once I bolted everything on and finally the JBL speaker bar, I just reattached the speaker. I adjusted the speaker so that it was as tucked up under the hardtop as possible. = got my rear view back. (I do have a 37” spare tire keep in mind, but still great to actually be able to use my rear wiper again!)

Any impacts to sound quality since the speaker is pointed downward now??

I honestly don't even use my rear view mirror—bad habit I picked up after driving semis and box trucks for years. So the JBL speaker doesn't bother me at all. But it is going to drive my wife insane, and this seems like a potential fix.

I really haven’t noticed a difference. Much better obviously with the hard top on versus off, but still fun to blast it louder with the top off. I was just so bugged with the position of the speaker, once I moved it, I was thrilled.
