What do you mean? They look like they have been a standard structural tie-down location since before CG was ugly.
Seems to be a great tie-down point that is modular. In the case of the bimini in this thread, they have three bolts that fit into threaded locations on this bracket. It's also directly above the B-pillar, which makes sense from a load bearing aspect.

I admit to being confused about them on the Showcase model and assumed they were a modular interface for the variety of roofs that would someday come about.... Then as stuff started coming up, it made sense. Had a stitch of pics put together a while back of that bracket on 4-door and 2-door vehicles but recently did a purge of all the CG research/pics done over the past 6 months as it became pointless for me personally.
In this aspect i'm really excited about the roof options as Ford has designed Bronco to have this interface and all vendors will have a solid starting point for their designs. For better or worse, depending on the vendor!
