Gear shifter buzzing noise under acceleration

My OBX 2.3 auto recently developed a buzzing noise from the gear shifter under acceleration. If I hold the shifter tight, the noise goes away. Shifting between N-D-M a few times can sometimes quiet it. The noise is intermittent, typically in the morning. Has anyone seen this issue?

I think you may have got a colony of killer bees in your shifter.
