Well it's Bronco week in Moab even though the town city council doesn't want us here five of us still came out.
The last few time I have been here manufactures have been here in Moab to test. Last year it was Ford testing the Ranger testing the Old Man Emu suspension. They were staying at the same hotel as I, as was this year GMC with the Hummer SUV. The twist here is that GMC has at least ten of the SUV's here for the media/ journalists to come and test drive on road and off road.
I placed this in vs the competition, however I do not see the Hummer SUV as competition do to it's ground clearance, size and price. As shown in the photos the bottom looks like one big skid plate. The interior is very plush and seats comfortable but this thing is not a wheeler. The front CV's look strong but if your pushing 1000hp they better be. The tie rods did not look bigger than a Ford Performance rod. Tire wise the always great rock throwing Goodyear Wranglers with an eight lug bolt pattern. The Hummer has plenty off storage in the back, but as you will see in the photos you better have a support truck with you for tires and what ever else may go wrong if you go to far off road. While not as ugly as the Tesla truck it could be better. At least the media once her will be shuttled around in a four door GMC SUV there
is a fleet of them here also.
Moab Bronco wheeling to come later. Enjoy.
