Wanted to start a halo post on actual cost, parts, and time required for proper install.
I ordered a set of halos from @BeefCake racing when taunted by him. Forgot I ordered them until the shipping company called me. Lol.
Doors were dropped off Aug 27th at Roy O’Brien body shop for paint and fitment. 20 minutes after getting them unpacked. They were going to be painted that day but we’re still green. So they are putting them in the oven when ever they have room to finish curing them. Could be up to 2 weeks.
They arrived from Anderson composites last week. They are lift gate delivered in a big box that weighs around 50 pounds. Both doors are triple wrapped, plastic, bubble, and foam. Things looked amazing. Was very happy with the initial build quality. Solid, no weak spots, excellent pre finish. Handle looked solid.
Finish is a smooth white fiberglass with carbon inserts. Had some white on the carbon edges, smooth rolled edge, no seam marks to speak of. Carbon is beautiful. No sharp or unfinished edges. The latch is like a can am x3 latch. It’s just a small latch tucked in handle right by your armpit. They have one polished plate with a pair of rivets and red Anderson composite wording on the inside panel. Thinks it’s 1.5 by 3 maybe. Matches the bronc box so I left them on. Which is rare for me to do. I hate branding on my things.
The doors come with no mounting hardware. They do come with 3 bolts per door to mount the brackets on. Say they come with oem style door seals also. Mine did not have them with them. Waiting to see if they will send them to me.
They instruct you to take the hinges off the oem doors to make the fit properly. Not playing that game
So as I wait on the paint and, I started tracking parts down so I don’t have to strip my oem’s.
Door brackets come with body and door pieces only. Cannot just get the door attachment mount. Have to buy both. Same for tops and bottoms.
Parts needed to complete halos.
Right upper door hinge
M2DZ 7822800 A $151.21
Left Upper
M2DZ 7822801 A $151.21
Right lower
M2DZ 7822810 A $60.92
Left lower
M2DZ 7822811 A $60.92
Right weather strip
M2DZ 9820530 B $111.50
Left weather strip
M2DZ 9820531 B $111.50
$647.27 total for parts.
Put down $250 deposit on the paint, alignment, and install. Didn’t have a set price when I walked out. Just told them to call me when they needed the bronc box for paint match and install. This was with me buying a set of seals which may or may not fit. Trying to get the ones that are suppose to come with it sent but my order may have went through before they had them in hand.
So I’m ball parking $3200-$4000 for them complete. Can save some money by going to a local paint shop but I know they were excited about doing it.
Will update with total out of pocket, fitment, thoughts and pics when I get them back.
Now you maybe asking why I posted without them done and installed. This is the important part of you’re thinking about getting them. Ford only has 2 left brackets available in the entire US. So if you made it this far, you’re welcome. Get that damn left bracket!
Hoping to have it done for Woodward. Gonna crash the bronco nation party.
Teaser pics! Plus shows the box size to expect.
