I ordered an inner tie rod from my ford dealer. Ordered MB3Z-3280-A, which includes the inner tie rod, the boot and the two clips. I picked the part up. The box has this same part number on it. I open the box and pull out the part which is in a plastic bag. The plastic bag has a different number on it. The tie rod end is stamped with yet another number. Did I get the correct part? I have a 2023 badlands 2.7 with sasquach.
Number on box: MB3Z-3280-A
Number on plastic bag: MB3C-3D032-AB A23251B1024 (there is another number that is bigger: G272K)
Number on tie rod end: MB3C 3280-AA 3602

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

There are two different part numbers:
  • Service Part - This is the part number dealers and service departments use to order parts online.
  • Engineering Part - This is the part number Ford's internal engineering teams use, and usually is the part stamped/printed on the part itself.
Sometimes a single service part contains one or more engineering parts as part of an assembly or installation kit. This is what you're running into... you have a single service part with multiple engineering parts assigned to it.

Dealerships and those with access to Ecat (Ford's internal parts system) can type in a Service Part number and see a list of associate engineering parts (or vice versa).
