This is my $90 home made clamshell lift.
I had a leftover top side creeper that I was just going to give/throw away, I bought a $65 motorcycle lift, and some $15 rubber pads from Amazon, and I used some scrap metal tubing I had lying around and welded it together (feel free to laugh at my shitty welding). $10 for spray paint and it works great. I can lift the shell with just a hand held cordless wrench.
Even if you bought the top side creeper and all the metal tubing you could build the same thing for $200-250ish easy .
If you don't have a welder this could be bolted together with some slight modifications
