Not the time or place to preach about where people choose to live, especially with this being the 4th deadliest storm for our country since 1935. By your logic nobody should build in any coastal area or anywhere where there are wild fires, mud slides, earthquakes, avalanches, etc. Much of the planets population is in coastal areas that are subject to flooding including the entire eastern coast of the US. Hurricane Sandy did $70,000,000,000 in damage in 24 States and killed 233 people a decade ago. Should we have not rebuilt coastal New Jersey and New York??Yikes! Glad everyone is OK.
Maybe relocate to place that makes more sense to build on? Those Broncos are destroyed with the saltwater.
Our Naples beach condo has been there since 1967 and has never had any water in the garages or office/ground level building. Ian put 4 feet of water in all the ground level buildings so this is something like a once in 200 year storm. Maybe a once in 500 year event.
We lost two vehicles which is nothing compared to what hundreds of thousands of Floridians in the Fort Myers area are dealing with.
Pictures of our condo parking lot and one from my buddies place 1/2 miles to the south.
