Does the reservation money not go towards the down payment of the vehicle? What is the significance of getting the reservation money back or (and not that anyone is in here) complaining about a 400-900 dollar down payment at time of order confirmation. It all goes towards the price of the vehicle, correct?

Curious why any of you had to jump through hoops to get your refund. When I transferred my reservation the deposit was refunded automatically.

It was a headache for sure.
I received an auto refund for my first res deposit I moved. I was expecting the same for the second...but it didn’t happen hence the uphill battle

Transferred my reservation almost 2 months ago and my original dealer kept making excuses as to why he couldn’t refund my $100 deposit...

After countless emails and phone calls to the dealership and ultimately Ford HQ....SWEET VICTORY!

When I transferred my reservation I was instantly refunded the $100 making me think it wasn't tied to that particular dealership.

You were at University as well? Yea I had the exact same experience! I was not impressed by them whatsoever

I was originally with Crossroads but when Xplan got nixed they said MSRP plus a mandatory surface protection plan and the ridiculous doc fees. I made an appt at University to talk to them and maybe switch. They were jerks so there was no way I was going to buy anything from them. I ended up at a dealership 4 hours away and I'm totally fine with that!

University Ford in Durham sucks big fat donkey...

I'd rather save $3k and buy from SAC. I haven't had issues with and of the three Crossroads stores in the Raleigh area, it's just that I didn't want to pay MSRP or their ridiculous DOC fees.

Capital Ford's service department is trash and that's enough of a reason to not buy from them, even though they're in my back yard.

I forgot about that... How is that supposed to work? I transferred to Chapman Ford w/ @DealerInsider and never paid another hundo. Should I get it back, did it transfer, do I need to write a check? Order converted successfully.

I as well switched dealers and ford told me that I needed to give my new dealer another 100 $ deposit, but did not ask who was going to refund me the original hundred deposit, I assumed ford would.

My dealer refunded the $100 and then asked for a separate deposit. As it was all on the same card I didn't care.

This is true. I had a fraudulent charge on my Visa card a while back and they sent me a new card with a new number. I had to return an item purchased on the old card and they did credit it to the new one and they're now linked for this reason.

SON OF A GUN!!!! You guys are right, I just checked my most recent statement and there it is!!!! I got my $100 back! YAY. (and I already paid deposit to new dealer...) Thanks, guys.

But you have to make sure the right dealership has your initial $100 deposit.
