It seems impossible to attach an awning to the OEM roof rack. I didn't find any adapter bracket either. Are there any company making accessories for the OEM rack?

This seems to be mounted on the Yakima crossbar, which mounted to the OEM rack.

I need to get into a parking garage with 7 ft clearance, so the lower the better.

A lot of awnings and accessories can be mounted onto yakima or thule crossbars, which increases the height by 2-3 inches. Also, there is an extra cost for the aftermarket crossbar. I was wondering if I there is a way to mount one directly on the OEM rack so it's lower and cheaper.

If Fourtreks ends up providing a viable solution, let us know. Thanks.

ive put my Yakima slim shady awning on the factory roof rack without any issues

it does sit a little high but not awful. definitely dont need the yakima bars to run it.

i was really hoping that i could squeeze both the awning and the yakima skyrise hd2 tent on the factory rack at the same time but it just barely doesn't fit.
