Keypad entry install

Shoot I should just start a Keypad install side hustle.

$20 per install. Takes 10 minutes. $960 / day. Sign me up!

I looked into doing it myself when I bought mine. But you had to have the Ford diagnostic software to enable it (Forscan isn’t enough). So I ended up bringing it to the dealer and having them enable it. Charged me $100 (last year)

I guess if you already had the software it could be a lucrative side hustle.

All Bronco’s (except manual) have remote start capability from the ford pass app, but not all have it on the fob.

So in this case, like @RagnarKon mentioned, they’re referring to the remote start on the fob.

That doesn’t make any sense. All Raptors should have remote start on the fob. It’s standard.

Yeah I have the software. Somehow turned into the unofficial mechanic for my family, and everyone in my immediate and extended family has Ford products except for my aunt-in-law (she's the type to get a new vehicle every 2-3 years on lease). Add on my own tinkering and it makes sense.

Even if you don't have it.... it's $50 for a 3-day license, so if you have the equipment it's worth looking at imo.

TIL. I haven't had any use for remote start, but with your feedback I searched on YouTube and found a very informative video.

I had no idea what the circles and 2x on the key FOB did. On most vehicles that's to open the liftgate, but that doesn't make sense on the Bronco.

So for anyone else like me with a new Bronco, whose dealer didn't show them much of anything, you press Lock once, then 2x twice to remote start. Press 2x again to turn off the vehicle.

Now given this information, I previously ordered the keypad for Broncos without remote start (https://www.ford.com/product/keyles...cles-without-factory-remote-start-p2885836916) which doesn't work for the Bronco Raptor.

Thank you for that info. My window sticker said nothing about remote start. I checked multiple times. So I never thought to investigate it further.

It’s really very simple. If you can start the bronco from your key fob, you have remote start. As such, you would order the key pad “for vehicles equipped with remote start”.
Every bronco raptor has remote start.
