I believe the Bronco has no gas cap.
And I also believe the Fuel Door does not lock.
Like the Ford Escape - just open the door and you have access.

Any way to add a locking gas cap?
If I park on a trail head, or city street....shit happens.

I had an older BMW wagon, and if the car was locked, the fuel door was locked.
I have a 2013 BMW 128i - the fuel door doesnt lock.

Who's going to stop you from putting a locking gas cap on?

that's my question.
If the filler receptacle is not designed to have a cap - Ex: NO THREADS
are there caps that can accommodate that condition

I'd really advise against a locking cap. They'll just punch a hole in the tank. Replacing a tank of gas is far cheaper.

and thanks to ford, they'll only get 16.9 gallons if they catch me before I leave the gas station.

I am worried about all the dust will get down in there when you’re on the trail and then go to fill up your tank how do you keep it clean With out putting sand and dirt in your tank?

As someone with a lot of experience with fords, you’ve got nothing to worry about.
