I am looking for advice on light patterns. I am thinking about Fab Fours Premium Winch bumper, which has four slots for 2" pods and two upper slots. And most likely, I want to have ditch lights on a-pillars.
Most likely, I will go with DD lights so that I refer to their models for simplicity.

The first pair is going to be SAE Fog lights. The rest is a question. I am not a racer, and I will not drive fast at night, and I am not sure if I need "Spot (but all Bronco kits have it) so I wanted to have the second 2" pair with a "flood" pattern, and the top 2 will be driving. But I see "Combo" is a combination of driving and flood. Should I keep the top spots empty (for a cleaner camera view) and put the second pair of 2" pods with the combo pattern? I understand it will not light as much as flood 2" + driving 3" but do I need that much light and flexibility of using "flood" and "driving" independently? I don't know :(

As I understand, the combo pattern would work fine for ditch lights. Is it correct?

And I am not sure about the color. I think fog lights should be amber. What about the "flood"? "Driving" is probably white? But if I go with the combo 2"? And the same for sitting lights.

I am pretty new in that stuff, so that I would appreciate your input on these ideas.

Hey Evgeny,

Our SSC2 SAE-Fog is a great choice for a pair of road-legal fog lamps equipped on your Bronco.

If you go with 3000K selective yellow, you will have less light refraction when driving in fog, dust, or harsh driving conditions.

Overall, the yellow output does a better job of slicing through these tough conditions that might arise during your on-road or off-road adventures.

As for the second pair of SSC2s in your fog pocket, our combo optic is our most popular choice.

This combines our driving for long-range visibility and flood for a nice addition to light the foreground.

Lastly, if you mount SSC2s or SS3s on the top of your bumper with our driving optic you'll enjoy them for long-range visibility and supplementing your high beams.

Note: The graphic above is for our SS3s but the beam patterns are very similar to our SSC2 LED pods. This is a great overall reference guide to help make your selection.

Thank you! Do you think it would be enough a pair of SSC2 Combo instead of 1 SSC2 flood + SS3 Driving? The second option would be a brighter option for sure, but I am leaning toward a simpler, cleaner light setup. And the white color would be better, right?

And what is your suggestion for Ditch lights? Combo White SS3? Or something else?

SAE/DOT Fogs, #1. You got that down

For the other pairs, depends. Some folks go with a yellow SAE/DOT Fog in the 2" but it's not as much light as the 3". BUT at least you have a yellow fog now.

Another option which is our most favorite is to do a Spot for one 2" and a Combo for the 2nd 2". This way you've got every pattern Diode makes right there.

SAE/DOT fog in your 3"
Spot in one 2"
Driving/Flood in the 2nd 2" (as the combo has both a flood and driving pattern)

For pillars i'd say either Combo OR Spot. Spot will go further down range whereas the combo will give you that driving and flood. If you have a lighter colored vehicle (white) i'd say go with spot, as the combo might reflect off the hood a bit due to that flood pattern (the driving pattern would be a wider form of a spot, but just not as dialed in, good for high beams).

Thanks! So your suggestion is to have 3" fog light ON the bumper and not 2" inside the pocket?

I don't know exactly where your lights go. But a 3" pod throws more light over the 2" so you have to work with what you have.

3" pods mounted up top of the bumper are not ideal for FOG patterns. You want fog patterns LOW so as not to blind other drivers AND to ensure that beam pattern stays LOW (for fog use)

I posted the bumper in the post. I have 2 2” spots in the pockets and 2 any lights above. But I am not sure about the lights above due to the camera view.

Did you go with the Fab Fours Premium Winch Bumper? I was thinking about this.

Yes, I did. I ordered it, and I have it in my garage, but I haven't installed it yet. But I like how it looks.

My only thing is how far it sticks out, I think in other pictures, its about 7" from the grill. There is another company LOBO that is developing a HNT (High and Tight with a Winch) that looks appealing to me.

Yeah as a whole winch sits on top, so it sticks out. Haven't seen it in reality but in photos it's ok. The website has photos from different angles.
