Mabett Front Winch Bumpers

I'm entering the market for external accessories and I'll get the best price for everyone, all you have to do is let me know if you'll buy it and if this product needs improvement

I like the design but according to the Ford Equipment Installation Guide, it looks like it will block airflow to the intercooler. Do you have any pictures that are looking below the winch plate?

Edit: searched the FB group and found someone installed the original Mabett winch mount on a CB. Says he just unbolted the factory tow hooks and bolted the winch mount in

I am wanting a winch mount for my Ford Factory Modular bumper.

the Problem with the Warn option, especially the option from Ford performance. Is that it clearly states that it will block your camera and that you can NOT use your adaptive cruise control

i have seen the one from rough country, however while it does NOT block the ACC, it does block the camera, which can be corrected with various available camera relocation kits. The problem with these kits. Is if you accidentally just tap your garage door, or something else, it will take out your $500 camera. Also the quality of steel, steel thickness leaves me a little concerned as compared to other options, but for $250 is one of the lowest prices. They also have a hidden winch mount, yet you have to make some irreversible modifications to your Bronco to make it work. It’s also almost $700


JCRofforad has one of the bust built winch mounts around, the thickness and quality of steel used is some of the best I have seen. However at almost $700 it’s not the cheapest option. hey have a camera relocation kit as well, but again concerned about it hitting something. Also fro the various pictures I have seen, it looks like it may interfere with the ACC.

Mabett apparently makes a winch mount as well. That from what they say does not interfere with your camera or they have a kit, as well as doesn’t interfere with your ACC. I don’t know if they do that with kits, or not. Don’t know what the price is Either or the quality of the steel and build.

All I know is I want a winch plate that I can still use my ACC, and camera, I am ok with using kits. I also don’t want it to block my lighted BRONCO logo. I don’t care about a bar across the top. But I am concerned about camera safety. And I don’t want the thing to look like shit, and want good quality. I don’t mind spending $700 on a winch plate if it’s worth it.

Thoughts?

BtW I have a 23’ Badlands with Sasquatch, mod bumper, lux package, Leather, Hard Top etc…

The theme of your post was how the winch effects the camera. I recommend you look at the flimsy Ford bumper plates that hold the “Modular bumper” to the frame. Tell me you would trust just adding on a winch and trusting it to pull another 10,000 lbs against those flimsy plates.
You need to worry LESS about the camera angle, and more about the steel strength. You should not be bolting something on the add to the weakness of the Factory bumper with those stamped sheet metal mounts.

So winch mount arrived in destroyed packaging. Some nuts and bolts were floating around and the mount had taken a beating but I took a chance and installed it anyways. I had already planned on painting the recovery points so I didn’t mind a little extra touch up to the other parts in need.

Overall I’m impressed with the product and happy with how it turned out. I still need to fabricate some protection for the camera but already have an idea that should work.

Hopefully I get to test out the winch soon.
