Mi DNR sticker placement

Does any one know how picky the DNR is with the decals. I built a a small bracket that attaches behind my licensees plate that I will attach the decals to. My bronco has been ceramic coated so they wont stick to the surface very well. both the bumpers and painted surface has been coated. I think they would make the agument that I could transfer bracket from one to another vehicle..

This is how I had mine attached last year and I didn’t have any issues.

I put mine on the back glass, so I guess I can’t wheel with the top off.

Didn’t want them on the body. Wasn’t sure how well they’d hold on the powder coated bumper. The LP/spare tire brackets are good ideas.

What are these stickers for? It's been several decades since I explored back roads and trails in the UP, and don't recall needing stickers back then.

This day and age stickers shouldn’t be needed. Plate readers. But having to register for anything more than a tag is another story.

I do this too. Take a pic of the decals on my removed hardtop. That way if I get pulled over I can at least show the officer I have the trail permit.

What are these stickers for? It's been several decades since I explored back roads and trails in the UP, and don't recall needing stickers back then.

Essentially, even in a street licensed vehicle, if you are on a designated ORV trail and the terrain would not be driveable by a non-four wheel drive vehicle, you should have an ORV sticker (the logic is that if you need to drive your vehicle like an ORV, you need an ORV sticker). In addition, in Michigan, a number of the scramble areas require having the ORV sticker.

So, if the back roads are designated for street vehicle use, do not require high ground clearance, or 4-wheel drive, you don't need an ORV sticker.
