Anyone else’s fan come on right when you start the truck? Mine seems to come on every time I start it , hot, or cold

I've also noticed this. It seems to either throttle back or even disengage after a a minute or so.

It's a viscous clutch, normal operation is to come on initially, then once the fluid comes up to temp, it will only "really" work when the temp hits a certain point.

Yes, it sounds like a hurricane for about 30 seconds or so and then quiets down. Normal for a clutch fan (especially when its collllldddd)

Our trucks come with a mechanical fan. It's a good thing in my opinion. Yes its loud haha

It's a viscous clutch with a solenoid that can lock it in. The first 30 or so seconds of startup the fan is locked in electrically, and after that it's allowed to operate via the viscous clutch. I imagine it's locked in when tow haul mode is enabled as well.

I actually like the way it sounds when just started.
Ha! Me too. I usually start my truck from inside the house and open the garage door. By the time I get into the truck, the fan has turned off. At first I was "what the hell is that?" Then I actually liked it. It stays one for less than 2 minutes,
