Its a beautiful day to be measuring and fit checking prototypes. These are the rub plates for the hard top latches. They sit between the passenger and driver. I am going to make changes in the final design. The goal is to add mounting utility for future accessories, some color options and, compatibility with existing mounts. Specifically, the Bulletpoint Mounting Solutions accessories as I really like their offerings. The mount I used in the pictures is a cheap amazon desk mount. I am waiting for a Bulletpoint mount to arrive to check for compatibility. As I am a Aviation Sailor I am going to name everything after different roles for my platform. I would like to create a NavCom (navigations Communications)set up for the passenger to arrange GPS and camera/computing.

You can checkout other stuff I've made here at Modcrate.com

OK...I dig this idea.
I chase storms (when possible) and have a few GoPros I like to mount inside the vehicle and this would make for some cool options for perspective!

Keep us posted.

Dude... You chase storms! Thats awesome! I am What sort of mounting do you use right now? Any pictures would help me generate some ideas. I want the final design to be an effective mount for rigging all sorts of stuff together.

Here is the latest iteration. Modified it so that the 30mm circle did not interfere with the latch point. I also added some 2-56 screw holes. The idea was to be able to bolt on an adapter plate if someone had to jerry rig some other mount interface. I'm thinking of adjusting it so the whole mount interface is swappable.

Here is what I came up with for my first 2nd physical prototype and most likely the first production run. Its two parts the black is Acetal resin and the red will be anodized 6061 T6 aluminum. Depending on the final cost both parts may be anodized aluminum. If I go the aluminum route the black friction place will have a satin finish and the adapter plate will have a smooth bright finish. Initial adapter plate will have a single 1/4-20 threading its commonly used in camera rigging gear. Anyone have some requests for adapter plates?

Check out Modcrate.com for product updates.

The latch plate will be a drop in replacement utilizing stock hardware plus some additional screws for the adapter plate.

Haha....I don't have any solutions right now other than using the dash mount point and a homebrew setup you can see here: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/my-urban-camo-wrapped-badlands-build-updates.26360/
And I use this thing: https://amzn.to/44GMEOQ with a clamp on it mounted all over the place inside and out.
