@WolfBox
Replaced my battery last winter because it was really low on volts. It was about three years old. Was the middle of winter about -10 out.
After replacing the battery, it was still charging really high at around 15.2 Volts. Previous battery during the winter the year before at worst it ever pulled was 14.7. After a little investigation, it seemed like the 15.2 was normal for winter time.
Fast-forward to summer now and it is still charging at around 15.2, even after being put on a battery tender. It only takes about two days from a fully charged battery for it to be charging at around 15v when after being fully charged it’s usually running 13-14v charging.
One of the things I remembered was that I started having battery issues around the same time that I installed the wolfbox mirror I didn’t think anything of it because of the age of the battery and also because I had the parking mode disabled.
So four days ago, I put the battery on a tender, let it charge completely left the wolf box wired, but not turned on with parking mode still disabled. It drained from 12.8 - 12.4 overnight.
After that, I put it back on a tender this time I unplugged the Wolfbox mirror at the mirror and this was to make sure that somehow there wasn’t a wire shorting out because even if the wolf box is not physically attached to the system, if there was a bare wire causing a drain that was touching metal it would still drain, regardless of whether or not the wolf box was attached.
After 24 hours, I checked the voltage again and it was reading at 12.8 no problem so no drain during this time which leads me to believe that the wolf box mirror itself is causing a significant drain on my battery even with the parking mode disabled. Over the winter multiple times the mirror would be on when I would come out of work and have been turned on for hours which I determined based on the saved video footage. Parking mode was disabled this entire time. This seemed to happen on days where it was very wet out or very cold out. It hasn’t happened again since the temperature is warmed up, but I still have the parasitic drain.
fuse 37 - red wire
Fuse 25 - yellow wire
Firmware for the mirror is updated.
jinxed it… mirror turned on while the car was off. Sorry Fox the goats but didn’t want the dash to light up from opening the door.
