Does anyone know of a company that does automotive grade plastic chrome plating?

I would like to have OEM Bronco HEL black hub caps chromed for my HE. I have spoken to several companies that do the process, but only for large run contract, not auto enthusiast Parts. I am willing to ship parts to another state.

If Plastic Chrome spray paint won’t do it for you( I’ve found it comes out more silver than chrome) you could always get them wrapped in “Chrome” vinyl.

I never thought about a chrome wrap material...Thanks, I'll look in to that. There were companies around that did small batch plastic chroming but seems like chrome is not so popular anymore, so I guess they went out...

Mr. G's. Actually plastic has never been chrome plated. The actual process is vacuum metalizing.

Here's another company, they're even in Michigan. I know a few guys that have used them for dashboard bezel restoration.

There's another in Massachusetts, however you have to go thru this company for the 'chroming' service. They do the prep and send it to Muellers for the metallizing.

There is another method which is a sprayed finish over a high gloss black base. I don't recall the product name but I've seen some videos on YouTube.

I've used the chrome vinyl wrap for a gauge bezel with great results. Works well on a flat surface, a hubcap might be tricky. It's cheap, a 1' x 6' roll is only $10.

Spaz Stix Mirror Chrome. The model guys use it. It won't hold up for a hubcap.

Actually, “Electroless Plating” used similar process as metal chrome plating….no vacuum. But PVD has taken its place.

Thanks for the info, I’ll give them a call.
