I’ve read a few different posts about putting a resistor inline with a sub install for a kicker key 500.1 setup. Is this necessary? I also saw no mention of what resistor and where it needs to be placed in relation to the setup.

My setup
6 speaker base
No factory sub wiring
Oem b&o sub box
Low profile kicker sub that everyone recommends for this box.

I’ll be tapping into my wire harness with a t-tap before the kicker key 200.4 to run to the kicker key 500.1

Thanks for any advice.

Load resistors are only required when removing speaker load from OEM radio/amp and installing amp on radio/amp outputs. Unless you are using an SB compatible amp like Helix. In your case you do not need to do anything other than tap into kick panel speaker leads to feed your Kicker amp. The OEM radio/amp will still be presented with load from speakers and not act strange or shut down.
Edit just saw at bottom you will be using 200.4. Two sets of green load resistors or the new purples if you can find placed on 200.4 inputs will prevent any issues.

Any idea which green resistors are needed. Seems to be quite a few different ones with different wattage and ohm ratings. I assume they just need to get added to the positive signal of the channel I’m tapping into.
