Are there different key fobs for the different bronco models? I slightly recall that one version doesn’t have the same range as the other. Am I crazy?

I do recall something about that. You might be right.

Yes, there are different communication frequencies based on where the vehicle is sold and what equipment package you have. Some frequencies naturally perform better in certain situations... cause... well, physics.

I've ordered a spare (low cost) FOB for my Bronco. Still waiting, but it is a 3-button FOB, and is 315 MHz for the frequency it runs on. I believe the part # is...
M2-DT-15K601-AB 315 MHz

I'm buying it as a spare for programming if I lose one of my two OEM FOBs.

There was a sticker on my 2nd OEM FOB itself.

Reading on a bunch of distributors of FOBs I came across...
FCC ID: M3N-A2C931423
Part #: 164-R8295, 5940319, M2DT-15K601-AB

Therefore "164-R8295" or "5940319" should work for
my Bronco that has key part # M2DT-15K601-AB...
AND I think M3N-A2C931423 should also be some kind of addition part #.

Don't know if all/any this is true, but I'll be able to tell you in a few days whether this logic is correct, because my spare FOB should be here and either work or not. We'll see.

But again -- this is for the 3-button FOB, which # is: M2-DT-15K601-AB 315 MHz

As an aside... my daughter has an OBX. Her OBX has a 4-button FOB.

Hope this info helps someone.

The key fobs are different from Mid to High packages.

I posyted this a while ago followed it for my BD 3 button and my sisters Wildtrak 5 button remotes. Both worked great. make sure you put your VIN in so you get the correct remote. Dirt cheep $35 to$45 from Ford:

Just ordered a Ford OEM Key Fab From Parts.for.com. 3 button
Does not come with the key blank (You can get them on eBay for $10) fords key blank is $105 the fob is only $35 - $45 depending on the model, why mess around with aftermarket.
Followed the programing instructions with the 2 original keys, worked the 1st time.
DM me if you have any questions.

I got my FOB from the EBay Seller today, and it programmed up fine... my 2022 2Dr Base with 3-button FOB. Seller "jack_locksmith". Cost was $22.86, and it included the uncut key (which I probably won't get cut).
Item Description was:
FITS 2021 - 2022 FORD BRONCO 3 BUTTON REMOTE SMART KEY FOB 164-R8295 5940319

URL = https://www.ebay.com/itm/145006246791

Through my spare key and one seller the part numbers I came across with were: FCC ID: M3N-A2C931423
relates to -- Part #: 164-R8295, 5940319, M2DT-15K601-AB.

It has a frequency of 315 MHz.

Testing:
1) Programmed the 2nd time (pilot error the 1st).
2) Seemed to work about 80-100 feet away, but that was it.
3) Uncut key fit into my OEM FOB.
4) Looks and feels like OEM FOB, but no "Bronco" or "Ford" on it.
5) All 3 buttons worked.
6) Even though instructions said "take to locksmith" I was able to self-program it since I have the two original FOBs.

Took 4-5 days to arrive (from Walnut, CA).

Don't know how long the battery will last, as I just got it.

My legal disclaimer -- new FOB worked for me, but your experience may vary!

Over and out!
