Soft top on backorder

I must have missed something but who knows. Switched my order today from MIC hard top back to the standard soft top. Received a call back from my salesperson stating the soft top is on back order which will cause more delays. Also asked what my allocation was and they didn’t have that information just yet. Anyone else been told soft top is on backorder? Just looking to confirm this, at the same time I’m not suprised.

Maybe they tried to change you to the "dual" top... or were thinking about the dual top late availability?

Also, can a component be backordered when technically the entire Bronco is "backordered" right now?

If a dealer doesn't know your allocation 4 days before the deadline, then you better believe they are full of shit.

That’s what I am thinking also. Way I see it is if I’m delayed I’m delayed, just a bigger down payment I can put down

No. Dealer. Knows. Their. Allocation.

They however have been directed to inform customers whether they are likely to receive an MY21, MY22, or are around the edge based on the estimated allocation. That information is available to them and they should be sharing.

Dual top is late availability. Which is interesting though because there is a dual top MIC option. Hmm, we know that the MOD is late but Ford did say that all dual tops are late. But MIC is not a delay item. Yeah, I could easily see that the soft top could be a delay item. It's weird, but actually, didn't we hear something about soft top issues?

I think the OP meant his ranking at the dealership, not the dealers allocation from Ford ....

Yep. That’s what I assumed.

I just wanted to make it clear that if a dealer is currently telling anyone that they don’t know their allocation, they’re actually one of the more honest dealers, rather than one of the more slimy.

Just like the confusion over what “scheduling” means to Ford vs. “delivery estimate”, it’s important that we are careful about the words we’re using because that’s when things get super confusing, especially to the new folks.
