Yesterday I got to test drive a fully loaded Wildtrak at my dealer and it was amazing! it was a 2.7L SaS, kinda what my BD is. But I am a novice and have only once driven a Jeep offroad a year ago, and so I was really hard for me to put things in perspective when folks were talking about the noise of the MT tires, or the engine, and the test drive put everything to rest, at least for me.
Of course it was a soft top, kinda modified by the dealer to have the rear exposed, so for sure there was a lot of noise from that. But we drove on surface streets and the highway in sport mode and normal and the beast just clipped. It was soooo awesome sitting way above the rest of the crowd on the highway, the handling of the turns. And the a/c was also super powerful (in the front at least) even in the 108 deg AZ weather.
It was some much-needed positive energy I needed from all the production issues and wait, but I came away saying it is worth the wait.
Well, but I decided I wanted it sooner and so I asked my Bronco specialist about switching to a soft top, and he mentioned that would move me up the queue significantly (I was 264 out of about 280). And sooooo I took the plunge!!!! Now I hope it really made a difference!!!
