@Baja Designs Onyx6 10” bars mounted behind the grill:

If anyone was curious if this is possible, it is! Needed to fab up some janky mounts that I used on one of the old Raptor pickups, but they ended up fitting quite nicely. Now just waiting on the new headlight switch setup for the fog lights and we’ll run them with the brights, using the fog lights turning “off” to trigger the relay and kick these on.

Nice work & looks good!

Please keep an eye on your temp gauge & performance - you installed them in the “Medium Risk” zone. See attached pic from the Bronco Equipment Installation Guide.

One of course would assume there is some blockage but I didn’t know this diagram existed. That’s pretty cool! Thank you for sharing.

I wonder how much of a difference there is between the lights where they’re behind the grill and likely blocking more “effectively” compared to a winch where it’s technically blocking more of the grill, but air can more easily get around it.

I installed the Ford Performance winch on my Raptor and there is no difference in temperature parameters pre/post install.

Attached is the full Ford Equipment Installation Guide for further reference - there’s lots of good stuff in here…

Looks great! I did a similar install of LED lights on my Silverado years ago. Although some light was blocked by the grill, it was minimal. I like the ”hidden” look, which also deters theft. Well done!

Hidden is definitely the way to go with these lights. On the white bronco I don’t mind them on the bumper as they’re circles so they match the headlights and between them and the winch they block the body lift gap. But! There won’t be a front winch on this one. So keeping it clean.

Hoping the air flow behind the winch won't put me too much in the yellow.

Update for those interested-getting the new headlight switch with the fog light button worked nicely. No fog lights installed, but used forscan to enable them with DRL and headlamps. Disable with high beams. Ran relay to BD lights on normally closed with power supply to relay from AUX1. When fog lights “turn off”with the brights and AUX1 on, that signals the BD lights to turn on. No fumbling with switches for the lights, they now trigger on with high beams and there wasn’t a need to try intercepting through the module, as those systems can sometimes be unreliable.

Howdy howdy! Any long term update you can provide for September 2025?

I love it! I'm always interested in unique ways to mount lights.

Does it cast any type of shadow? Were you able to wire them up to your high beams?

Thanks! I did swap things up a bit and now have four Vega7’s in there.

No shadows

Used a normally closed relay tripped off the fog lights (that don’t exist but the wiring is there. Just had to enable with forscan) so when the fog lights turn off with the brights, the big lights turn on.

Thanks for the fast reply. Both setups look great. Appreciate the intel on how to wireup to highbeams as that's a good option to have.

So neither cast shadows then? No issues with overheating? I'm just exploring ideas right now for more lights and wanted to see what was out there for behind the grill setups.
