Just completed my audio system upgrade in my 24 Wildtrak 4dr. I went with the GearShade enclosure and 10” Kicker Comp RT mounted in the factory location. I ordered the enclosure with the accommodation for mounting the mObridge amp/dsp. I added Killmat to the interior of the enclosure along with poly fill. The enclosure bolts in using one bolt thru the back and a bracket on the top. (Word of caution, the supplied bolt for the rear was about an inch short, fortunately I had a longer one that worked.) The enclosure mounted very securely. I also applied Killmat to the rear fender wells and entire cargo area. At first, I attempted to use the Hertz ML250 10” woofer but I couldn’t get it to seal properly in the enclosure due to the basket size. I swapped it out for the Kicker Comp RT (after I snapped the pic attached) and the Kicker mounted right up.

As for the remainder of the system, I went with Audison AP1 tweeters and AP2 MV mids mounted to custom plates in the left and right dash locations. Another Audison AP2 MV was used in the center channel. As for the kick panels, I installed Hertz 1653 Legend 6.5” mid-bass drivers. In the rear, I utilized the stock enclosures and replaced the factory speakers with Hertz CX100 4” two ways.

I am truly impressed with the sound of this system. The mid-bass and front stage is incredible. The Kicker 10” Comp RT is tight and hard hitting. I’ve played a variety of music testing it out and everything sounds good. The mObridge amp has plenty of power to push the system as loud as you’d want to listen to it. Best part is, everything appears stock and I have full use of the cargo area.

I do have the EZ4x4 security enclosure and the subwoofer sounds the same top up or down. There’s no loss of bass response due to the woofer loading into the enclosed cargo area. Worked out perfect!!

For anyone on the fence, go ahead and pull the trigger on the mObridge, you will not be disappointed.

@mObridge @GearShade @Kicker @Audison @Hertz

Love it. Did u make the plates for the L R dash? Does the mobridge use the center channel on the dash ?

I purchase the dash plates off eBay. They we $30. As for the center channel, yes the mObridge will sum L and R to upmix the center. Or you can opt not to run a center channel. Your option.

Guessing you did some tuning on the Mobridge especially for the kick panel mid bass?
Did you make any forscan changes?

Thank you for the helpful writeup. I’m considering a similar system and have two quick questions if you don’t mind:
1. To confirm, you are supposed to put the sound deadening on the inside of the box? Did you cover basically the entire interior surface?
2. Did the Mobridge kit contain all the wires/connectors to hook up to the sub, or did you need additional wire and connectors from say the sub itself to the connector on the sub enclosure?

1. Yes, I used Killmat 5mm thick sound deadening material on the entire inside of the enclosure. Then loosely filled with poly fill.
2. Yes you need wire to go brim the terminal connector on the end of the enclosure to the woofer itself. The mObridge kit comes with a long lead of wire for the sub (pink + and pink/silver -). You would probably have enough to cut off and use inside the enclosure. The terminal on the outside of the enclosure is right next to where the amp mounts.

Hope this helps.

question also regarding wiring it up? how difficult was it to wire that up? the kit online says plug and play but with all the stuff included in the pics it looks way more involved than that? thanks!

It’s fairly simple. You have to run the supplied battery cable to the battery under the hood. If you have an automatic transmission, there’s a grommet already in the firewall to utilize for this.
The only other wiring to run is a “T” harness to the dash. Easiest way is down the passenger side thresholds then across to the location behind the climate controls. Remove the climate controls to access the ACM. There’s two connectors one grey and one black. These face upwards. The black connector is the one that plugs into the “T” harness. (It was easier for me to unplug the grey connector first to get to the black one.).
Other than that, there’s a provided ground wire that you can connect to a factory grounding point right near the amp.
Everything else just plugs into at the amp.

No, I removed the factory sub enclosure and replaced it with the GearShade sub enclosure. It bolts in thru the back and a bracket on top. I does go in place of the factory sub enclosure and fits behind the trim panel.

Yes. It’ll have nutserts installed for the mObridge bolt pattern. You’ll need to use the mounting screws supplied with the mObridge amp rather than the screws that come with the enclosure. The heads on the screws mObridge supplies are flat allowing for the connectors to plug in on the amp. You can discard the mounting plate that comes with the amp, it’s not needed.
