We hit several spots along Lolo Pass. I had seen something on the map called Tilly Jane, no idea what that was. That led us to Cloud Cap. Again no idea what that was. Just spectacular!

We could have called it a day but we went on to Bennett Pass. Turns out we had to rescue some kids who had slashed a tire (the rocks are sharp there) and no tools. Of course. Did I mention I was about to run out of gas. Turns out the gas station at Gov Camp is open 24 hr (pumps work). Got home about midnight. Full day.

Fun and additional photos by @ArtHughes @adampdx @OregonMike and @SkiRig

Great loop, just wish we'd had better weather for the view from that spot on Bennett Pass. Decent light show from where we found that Toyota truck, though.

Fortunately for us it's not that far for us to easily go back!

Thank you all for sharing this.
Question for @OregonMike, are you still stock height with the 285/70/17's?
Thanks!

I am - I haven't lifted my Bronco yet. I've only experienced some rubbing at full lock when there's some compression in the front, which has been pretty rare to this point. I don't think I've experienced that on the trails, in fact.

Thanks much and we are frequently on trails and surfaces like those you shared. We find ourselves in Rocky Mountain rocky mud, slushy double ruts, and Eastern colorado sand dunes. We have to wheel to remote locations for work, so tend to roll gently, and have only had a couple of rubs on rocks we should have worked more patiently to avoid.

Much appreciated and look forward to more of your trips. I have seen pictures of the road you traversed downhill and your night ride gave me shivers.
To paraphrase,
"If your mirror isn't touching brush on the driver side, you're doing it wrong and may die."

Be well. @swooshdave thanks for sharing.

While I may have seemed to be too dramatic, since we were going southbound the edge is on the right side... and it's dark. And not everyone had been on that trail before.

But go off the side and it won't buff out.
