We started on trail thirty, it is rated difficult. I'd give it a high 6 low 7. This is the gatekeeper. It is a scatter of rocks that gives 3 lines. The only line I have tried on it is the left.
The next really tough obstacle is a large rock on the left with a double rock stack that sucks you uphill into a side lean position. This is a spot where being short makes it easy.
It took some work to get the moar door Rubicon through. He envied my removable flares as we were trying to keep his from getting crushed.
We turned onto 31 and started immediately climbing to the top.
Of course the pictures do not do the climb justice. This ledge was deceptively tricky.
I heated up my tires to climb up this section with multiple rocks jutting from the wet clay. Long wheelbase ruled this area and before it was over I had to winch. I could have kept with the skinny pedal, but I was already making the trail less passable. I decided to save the terrain and equipment and use the add on.
The climb continues from there to the top.
Jason had a tag along.
This is on 88 Jason and Mike posed as we looked around.
