Anyone Ever Ship Mounted Tires & Wheels Combo(s)?

Hiyas All,

Has anyone ever shipped mounted tires + wheels? I have an oppty to get a great deal on a set of 5 take off tires + wheels, but the seller is just over 6 hrs away. I’m not relishing a 12 hr+ round trip and paying $200 or so in shipping vs. $100+ in gas and my time would make sense.

Just curious if anyone has experience doing so.

The weight would require them to get shipped freight. That means palletizing the wheels and tires, strapping them down and either someone picks them up, or taking them to the closest freight depot.

Is the seller willing to meet you half way if you throw in another $150?

I bought a set from a forum member who shipped them via FedEx ground through the tire store they bought th St it new tires from.

Tire Rack ships them all the time. When I purchased tires from them they came with zero issues. With the mounted wheels they (I know you are talking private party purchase) put thick cardboard over the wheel surface. If the cover the wheel with cardboard and tape the crap out of them they will be fine.
Or just see if they will meet you half way...

Yeah I would ask if he would meet you but no way I would do it for 150…. Thats still a 6 hour round trip for seller. I dont even know what my number would be but its not 150,lol
