Just an open call to any interested vendors…im sure there is a lot of interest by 2 door owners for a storage solution like the cargo drawer on the 4 door. I know they have some options out there but all of them have less than ideal dimensions. Something that would be slimmer and be flush with the hump that 2 door seats create when fold down would be pretty desirable. Essentially giving 2 door owners a flat “ish” surface when the drawer is installed and the seats folded down. Hope what I’m trying to relay makes sense but just throwing it out there. Maybe there already is something out there that I haven’t found yet.
That looks great! I am planning on making something very similar. Likely wont be done for a few months for it take me FOREVER to get any project done.Like this?
Wow this looks perfect!Like this?
Thanks for the pics and inspiration. The new carpet looks like a near identical match to the back seat (unless you covered the seats?) Where did you find that?Like this?
I got the carpeting at Menards. It’s marine carpeting but most big box stores have it available. Seats are stock. The whole thing just drops in. I can remove it in one piece if I needed to. I didn’t see the need to bolt it down. I did put Anchor loops along the sides for tying to. It folds perfectly flat and sits on top of the seat backs. Here’s a picture that shows it before carpeting to illustrate. Thanks for the pics and inspiration. The new carpet looks like a near identical match to the back seat (unless you covered the seats?) I was just thinking about making something similar the other day to hide my sound ordnance b-8ptd sub that I picked up. I was going to make something with a fold-up lid, but a drawer is a good idea too!
btw - i was planning to cut holes over the d-rings in the floor and running some sort of cross/pipe through them.. that way you can't remove the box when you've got your softtop on. I was going to put a lock on top too.. a low-budget lockable storage unit.

It’s sitting in the vehicle but I could get some basic measurements. I fitted it to the sides which are not flat by any means. Also, there are cutaways for clearing the roll bar so it will fold forward. This looks great, could you share the build dimensions if you have it? Would love to build the same exact thing
Well done sir. I was born & raised well in MN. Next time I’m there I’ll be watching for Broncos in the wild, I’d love to see this in person. (As always )Like this?
Do you have a link to this temporary platform. It looks like it fits perfectly.
I was thinking of this as a starting point and then see if I can make something a bit more permanent with a lid.
Like you said, nothing perfect out there so far, and I'm looking for something similar. I've got some ideas I'm kicking around so hopefully I can put all these hours wasted here to good use.
VERY sweet! I'm working on a very similar system. My plan is to integrate a demountable fridge slide and use a bed-liner finish. Love to see this proof of conceptLike this?
