Hey all,

Curious if any of you have ever been to the Memorial Day weekend off road event in Dresser, Wisconsin.

I’m considering going but don’t know much about the event. Would love to hear from any of you if you’ve gone.

@irishkpo I joined the MN4WDA last year and have been wanting to go to an event. To your point I think I just need go and know there are great people there to help get you accustomed. That Spring Convention looks ideal but I'm out of town that weekend! I think I might just have to give the Memorial Weekend event a shot since I'll be up near there anyway.
I didn't realize REI had meet ups for overland rigs...that's another thing I'm interested in getting more involved with too. It'd be great to test a few of these events out and then find a group/club that is most aligned with my interests/experience.

If you or @BoldNorth are interested I'm already signed up for my second class with Iron Range Offroad: https://ironrangeoffroad.com/offroad-classes. I did a write up of my experience last year here: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/iron-range-mn-learning-to-wheel.75885/ It was an absolute blast, learned a ton, and felt really comfortable knowing the guides knew what they were doing. I've since upgraded to a Badlands Bronco so I'm pumped to give it another go.
Zeus Off Road looks to have some fun events too...I don't think I can swing this one this year but I'm going to keep a look out for others: https://event-discovery.ticketspot.io/events/0cccc11a-34d9-4ac8-82be-e3ac23c0c004

I'll keep you both posted if I'm ever headed out as it'd be great to meet some others!

@BoldNorth I joined MN4WDA also. I travel for work during the week so I'm never home for meetings but I wanted to got to events and have access to the info on their website.

I also follow Zeus on Facebook. That's actually where I found out about the REI Rigs and Coffee events. Looks like it happens every month. We went last month. There were only about a dozen rigs there with their tents popped. A lot of others coming and going including us. It was fun to just poke around and get ideas. I'd love to build an overlanding rig but my wife thinks roughing it is the hotel that didn't have a hair dryer..... LOL

I've looked at the irornangeoffroad classes, after going to two Ford OffRoadeos now and my time spent with my previous built FJ Cruiser for 17 years I just haven't pulled the trigger on one of them.

@irishkpo Thanks for the info. I'll look into the MN4WDA and REI stuff. Our patterns are quite opposite - I work in Minneapolis during the week and go to NE WI in summer weekends, but our wives share the same opinion on roughing it! :) I'm interested in off-roading and meet-ups, but if I'm realistic, my work + family schedule will still probably mean I'll have less opportunity to actually do a lot. I'd like to know about the activities, anyway, so that I can attend when it works out. I'll stay connected on this club for those. Nice to see some active local Bronco enthusiasts. Thanks for a warm welcome to the club!
