COVP and 22 to 23 rollover and cancelling orders

Say you had more than one order
And for whatever reason ford makes you think they really will make ONE. How do you cancel a 22/23 rollover? Just don’t sign the paperwork? Call ford?
I see people say they canceled the order but I’d think there should be a way to make sure
Or is there?

Just call your dealer, they can cancel it.

The COVP name-match policy should incentivize them to truly cancel it, but you can always call Ford afterwards to verify it’s been canceled.

That’s just shady dealers. You can call ford or check online, it shows cancelled.

It's not the retail customers problem if the order isn't canceled it is the dealers problem. If the dealer goes through the COVP process on a retail customer without having an actual customer then the dealer is subject to name match penalties.

The concern of the retail customer would be if you have any deposits in place that you would like refunded from the dealer because you are not going to continue with your order.

not all dealers require deposits and walk in COVP orders aren’t on your ford account

I got one, the best way was to do it through your Ford account online so that a dealer didnt just tell you it was cancelled.
