Not sure how true this is but I found it interesting and plausible.

I've been told this as well. My grandpa flew in WWII and he had a mil jeep yrs later that he loved driving.

Another tradition started by the 'Greatest Generation'. Now I want to wave at everyone.

I saw a Jeep in the parking lot of Walmart the other day that had the entire width of the dash lined with ducks, 2 rows of them. I've never seen a child with that many bathtub toys. It made the Jeep look cheap and ridiculous. As far as the wave , everybody in the South waves at everybody , always have as far back as I remember. A guy on a tractor waved at me this morning. It would be hard to get a vehicle specific wave going without someone riding by in a Yugo fucking it all up,lol.

Back in the 90s when 1st gen miatas had pop up headlights they would "wink" at each other. They have a button to pop the lights up without turning the lights on. Hit it a few times and the lights would go up/down out of sync.

As long as you're cracking open the history books, check out who was making 'Jeeps' for the military back when it all began...
Yup Ford.

Dunno, man. I ride a mc, so I wave at all oncoming motor-powered two or three-wheeled vehicles that I see on our local roads. I don't wave at bicycles - F them. I give the same V-for-Victory wave for oncoming Broncos that I give for mc's. I don't wave at Jeeps F them (except for the old CJ-5s, which I love, and may be why I now have a Bronco).
