So… a tree fell on my brand new Bronco last night. Not a horrible outcome, but upon closer inspection this morning it punctured the soft top in one spot, about the size of a nail. I didn’t see it at first, but once I felt the inside I found the hole.

So definitely an insurance claim… but I assume getting parts is going to be impossible at the moment?

Needs:
Paint Buffing
New Graphic Stripe
Fender flare
Side window scratched
Rear window scratched
Soft top replaced (I assume?)

Any guesses on a claim estimate?

We had crazy wind storms last night… 60-80MPH winds. The whole city is a mess, trees down all over!

Man I saw the high wind warnings but it was nothing in OC.

Take advantage of an insurance claim to get an aftermarket hardtop and just patch the hole in the soft top?

Cheer up bud, that’s basically the rash from one day on a nicely wooded trail, just tell people you went wheeling up in Oregon country.

No, the top will be the bulk of the claim, so that’s about $1000 already, so may as well get an aftermarket if you can get one. Until then, put some strong tape on it unless the hole is bigger than a fist.

The fenders are pretty cheap and easily replaceable and made to be. The paint will be those panels only and looks like at least 3, but that’s what I can see from your pics.

If you’ve got a $500 deductible, it’s def a claim. If you’re a rich guy with a $1000 deductible and the repair is less than $3000, then you have a decision to make.

Sucks this happended and your son looks annoyed too, but thankfully you didn’t catch a big part of the trunk.

Imagine if you had a hardtop as getting a replacement would be impossible.

Get your insurance to replace the OEM top with an aftermarket one

My deductible is actually only $250, so it’s a super easy decision.
