Hello, I’m wondering if anyone can help clear this up for me. I want to replace my rear view mirror with a dashcam mirror. Will I lose any functionality throughout my vehicle other than the auto dimming capabilities of the mirror? Is the rear view mirror tied to anything else like the auto dimming headlight or auto dimming infotainment?

Thanks for the help.

Other than the mirror dimming, you wont lose anything else.
The dimming for the infotainment and headlights is done using the sunload sensor on the dash.

I replaced my rearview mirror with a Wolfbox G930, due to being the same 10" size. I tucked the OEM connector into the plastic cover, and everything is working great. No loss of any functionality elsewhere in the Bronco.

Was it difficult to run the wiring for the front/rear cameras? I'm also curious about whether or not this is easily accommodated with a tire cover.

I don't have a front camera, I have the Wolfbox G930, which has the built in camera and a wired rear camera, but I did run the wire for the rear camera.

It wasn't difficult to run the wire; it did take a bit of time though. I started at the mirror [where the wire plugs into the camera] and followed the path along the top of the windshield, then down the a-pilar trim, then down toward the floor on the passenger side, behind the grab handle panel and kick-panel. From there, I removed trim covers as needed to get the wire routed to the back where the factory wire harness goes into the tailgate. I threaded the camera wire into the tailgate [yes, another cover had to be removed, however in my case, I have a tailgate table, so I had to remove that]. I then fed the wire through the rubber gromet in the tailgate to where my license plate mounting bracket is installed.

As I was doing this, I asked myself, "self, should I make a video of this? and myself said, nah".

If it would be helpful, I'm happy to make a quick video of "this is what I did".

Thanks for much for the offer; no need at all. I was curious about where you mounted the rear…and the wiring seems like what I expected. Definitely a time intensive thing…will add to my future project list

I installed the Wolfbox G900 Pro but I ran the rear camera to the front to use as a trail camera. you will not lose anything but auto dimming. I use mine as a regular mirror most of the time so it is basically a dimmed mirror. it is as reflective as a cell phone screen turned off. but the cameras are great. I removed the drivers door to make routing the wires easier. FYI the screen is much nicer in person this was a low res upload.
