Over the next few days I'm going to install a Hammer Built winch mount. That also includes a Milemarker winch, and Mishimoto high intercooler and charge pipes. This is going on my 25 Badsas with 2.7 and lux package.

I just unboxed everything and was preparing to paint the Hammer Built brackets. I was surprised to find they are powder coated. I was not surprised to find they were damaged in shipping. They were wrapped well and put in a box that was very big with some brown paper as packing. I placed the bent part in my trailer hitch and straightened it easily and I will touch up the other damage with black paint.

I had previously read there are no instructions for the Hammer Built. I suspect I can figure that out and maybe this thread will help others. I expected Mishimoto to have printed instructions included. I found some videos and watched them. I also went to their website and printed the directions. Due to a miscommunication on my end I ordered only the intercooler kit and then ordered the charge pipe kit, so I am assuming there will be a few extra parts. I should have ordered it as one kit.

BTW you can buy the winch for $1450 shipped on Amazon. I still have a hard time with spending that much for a Milemarker which I literally wore out one of their first electric winches. That was many years ago, so I'm hoping for a huge improvement in quality.

The winch was $1450, the Hammer Built kit was $599 or $699 and the Mishimoto kit was about $2200. I didn't keep exact details on the costs.

Best of luck with the install. Are you doing it alone?

Yes. I'm sick with a sinus infection so taking many breaks. So far I removed the radiator cover which required me to remove the air cleaner cover.

I removed the grill which sounded like it was breaking, but was fine. Same thing with the fender flares.

So far so good. It was difficult to get the plastic caps off the bumper. There was nowhere to get my fingers in. I used a big flat head screwdriver just under the edge and yanked and it popped off.

The difference in the intercoolers is pretty significant. I will say the Ford is thicker though.

Drilling these holes is pretty annoying. They want me to be accurate to 24.8mm and my eyes and tape measure aren't that good. I was able to remove the foam strip without a heatgun.

The directions say not to put the two bolts for the original upper intercooler mount in until after you mount the new intercooler. That makes it much more difficult. I would recommend to install them before mounting the intercooler. Also the 6 holes you drill are not super critical on the precise location.

This only matters if you are installing the charge pipes also. I had to get creative. The instructions said to loosen the 7mm hose clamp.

BTW if Mishimoto ever reads this please label your bags with letters just as use bolts in Bag A for the next step.

having done this recently, I'll be wondering if you run into the winch mount rubbing against the inner cooler like I did. I left it as is as it doesn't seem to cause any issues thus far

I did a quick test fit and it looks like it will interfere slightly. I'll cut it or use spacers if needed.

You’re gonna love the hammer built high mount winch. The mile marker winch you have is also well made and very fast under load. Especially compared to other brands in the same price point. It out performs in every way.

You can use CVfab intercoolers as well with the hammer built winch. That’s what I went with and From your photos the CVfab mounts up easier maybe? There is drilling and such. All in all the winch is an easy install. Took me 8 hrs by myself start to finish. The hammer built was considerably easier then the RC hidden winch which i had previously installed and removed.

I used the turn offroad ACC relocation bracket. That too was simple to do following their videos.

the larger intercooler you have is a great upgrade. In Watching IAT the temps and timing curve, they now stay pretty close to ambient and timing isn’t pulled now So you maintain your 1-2 degrees of timing that’s pulled on the stock intercooler by PCM/ ECU due to fast heat soak. That’s where you “gain” 20-30 hp. It’s not that you actually “gain” but more or less retain from heat soak. Your bronco will feel peppy again like it does in cooler early morning driving.

But now if you ever tune for
More power through hP tuners a tuner can add boost with out pulling timing as much.

I did clock my winch so I can run free spool through bumper at some
Point. But you can easily use free spool leaving the winch pointed down but reaching in the passenger side behind skid plate. I wired the winch light to aux switch. I’d strongly recommend the wireless remote.
I dont care for the bulky connectors from mile marker. I eliminated the one to the wireless controller and soldered and hardwired it. I mounted the wireless control box to the stock intercooler bracket where the old intercooler held the little
Legs of the intercooler and skid plate. Works slick.
Can’t wait for you to get yours dialed in. 👍

At this point with being sick I'm just going to put it back together for Monday. I'll do the actual winch mount at a later date.

One note, the charge pipe kit does not include pipes from the air filter to the turbos. That one I had to zip tie channel locks on didn't even need to come off.

Also I am very surprised how many extra parts I have. The instructions said to skip several steps since I don't have the modular bumper, so I'm guessing some of those parts are related and some are because I ordered two kits instead of just the one.

looking good. and yea If you ordered the inner cooler by it self it'll assume you are connecting to the OEM pipes and therefore supply adapters, same goes for the pipes, It'll assume you are connecting to the OEM inner cooler. Since I ordered the whole kit only extra parts I had extra was the ACC relocation (which I didn't need), I'm sure there were extra nuts and bolts too
